Rituals with Ryan Hill

We spend time with artist Ryan Hill who uses “doodling” as a form of resistance against productivity.

In this series we dive into the idiosyncratic habits of people. We learn about their rituals, whether personal or communal, and how they imbue people’s daily lives with more clarity and meaning.
In this story we “doodle” with artist and educator, Ryan Hill. For Ryan, doodling allows him to enter what he calls the “non-productive space,” where a stream of consciousness takes hold, helping to feel more attuned to nature and less fixed on results.
