Politicians often point to property taxes as a force that dissuades businesses from opening doors in an area and prevents the growth of established companies. Pima County has some of the highest property taxes in the state. Are those taxes pushing businesses away from the area? Also, some of the other municipal governments in southern Arizona cannot levy property taxes of their own. Does that mean they raise taxes in other places?
