The federal health insurance market opened for its third enrollment period on Sunday. Across the country people are being urged sign up for coverage, and in Tucson there is a push to get a specific demographic insured.

"Spanish-speaking Latinos are the largest group of uninsured in Arizona and in Pima County," Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President Lea Marquez Peterson said at a press conference Monday.

A number of organizations are offering help enrollment help in Spanish, English, and, as Mayor Jonathan Rothschild put it, in "every language under the sun."

University of Arizona Center for Rural Health Director Dan Derksen said it does not matter what language people speak, the number one cause of bankruptcy in this country is medical bills.

"You get sick and you can’t afford it and you go bankrupt," he said. "So let’s make sure that every Arizonan understands the choices that are available to them and takes advantage of them."

The health insurance marketplace will stay open until Jan. 31.
